ABOUT LESHAE

Growing up, I would always bake and decorate cupcakes on the weekends with my aunt. Things like that were fun to me, but as I got older, I started to develop more of an interest in cooking.

I would cook for my mom and brother and on Sundays, we would watch The Food Network. I was amazed by all the creative things the chefs created with food. I would always wonder, “What if I could do that?”

In middle school, I took a home economics class but wasn’t really interested. When I got to high school, I took a cooking class and really enjoyed it. I decided that cooking was what I wanted to do. I then started applying to culinary schools to attend after I graduated high school. I was accepted to a few. I decided on Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Academy of Culinary Arts because they had a wonderful externship program.

After I graduated from IUP, I did an externship in Boca Raton, FL at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. I was so excited because I would have never thought that me, a girl from Brooklyn, NY,  could make it this far. After I completed my externship, I was offered a full-time position to work at the Boca Beach Club and  worked there for 5 years. I really loved cooking and preparing special dishes for the guests.

I have since relocated back to the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. I want to help make other people’s special events even more memorable by cooking amazing culinary dishes for them and their guests!
